Where Does Our Destiny Lie?

Which destiny?

If my beliefs prove to be true, then our future is the continued evolution of our within to become something akin to God.

I base this on two concepts:
1. We are the only life form on Earth that invents technologies in direct response to our understanding of Nature. Thousands of years ago we saw logs floating on water and then fashioned boats. We then noticed that a man's loose tunic could capture the wind and increase the boat's speed. A taller man increased it even more. We learned to capture the wind in sails and enhance the sails by lengthening the masts and now our adventurers could conquer the Earth's oceanic bounds.
2. We have shoulds. Humans have responsibilities beyond survival. Our within is mightier than our without. Our soul is most paramount, yet most remote, of the elements of our being. There is a right way to live. A way that is more important than our very lives. It is the rarest of humans who cannot conceive of something that he or she wouldn't readily die for. I would give up my life in a heartbeat so that my family would live.

There is a concept that moves us along into that destiny. Philosophers give it the name: The Sublime. I define The Sublime as the most perfect example of all that we are capable of conceiving. It is our insatiable search for that which is Sublime that powers our lives. We seek greater and greater knowledge about all that is around us. We experiment to see how all these things work, so that we can improve our own lives. Do more. Do better. Grow.

For Human Life is all about Growth.
