Community of Excellence - Marcus and Me on Context

Is there redemption? Is all this worth it? Will there ever come a day when the urge to belong finally eradicates the urge to conquer, in all its forms?

So much turmoil is caused by those who stoop to conquer - such as to cut someone off while driving - that it is easy to allow one's emotions to condemn the entire future of our species, rather than to condemn an individual action, by an individual person for a given instance in eternal time.

"There for not the grace of God, go I."

The passions for such a moment where the greed of a 'conquering' fool trespasses on my tranquility are better handled by reflecting on mine own principles and spirituality so as to provide a context. The soul and spirit of Nature would glance at such an occurrence, frown disapprovingly, then open itself to the totality, and be comforted.

MARCUS AURELIUS - How hath thou behaved hitherto to thy gods, thy parents, thy children, thy friends, et al, consider if thou hath hitherto behaved so this may be said of you:

"Never hath he wronged a man in deed or word."

And call to recollection both how many things thou hast passed through; and how many things thou hath been able to endure; and that the history of thy life is now complete; and thy service is ended; and how many beautiful things thou hast seen; and how many pleasures and pains thou hath despised; and how many things called honorable thou hast spurned; and how many ill minded folks thou hast shown a kind disposition.
