My father, Tom Harwood died at about 7pm on 10/17/2014. Two years to the day that his love, my mother Dorothy also passed away. His passing was instantaneous from a massive stroke. One minute he was getting ready for dinner with my brother, and the next, he is dancing with his wife among the angels.
This was my most immediate reflection very early the next morning. And Marcus Aurelius' meditation. Please take note, that I read Aurelius after I have finished my entry.
There is an undying, all-pervasive spirit that permeates all reality. We are subject to it and contribute to it. We perceive it. Not with our eyes, or ears, or nose, nor any other physical organ. It seems we perceive it with it itself. And the more we rely on this spirituality the more sensitive we are to it.
It is not subject to the laws of physics. It does not age. It cannot die.
Marcus Aurelius Part V 19 - Things themselves touch not the soul, nor have they admission to it, nor can they turn or make it. But the soul turns and moves itself alone. And whatever judgements it may think proper to make, such it makes for itself the things which present themselves to it.
