I am excited about who I am though not satisfied with all that I have become. This combination does not add up to happy. But it does position me for what is to come.
I am the product of the talents I was born with and the experiences thrown my way. If I am excited about who I am then I am by definition excited about all the components that are part and parcel to who I am.
So, regrets and lamentations are misguided, if not downright useless. Those things in one's life that are ruefully remembered contributed to the person one has become just as much as one's greatest triumphs and fondest memories.
Be that person. That whole person who has grown to be that which you are. Talented in your own way and to your own extent tempered by the events that you have already experienced. Those components that have now prepared you for your own future. Now prepared you for the continuous series of "NOWS" that await the continuous series of decisions you will make on how you will handle each "NOW."
In other words, how you decide to DO. DO what you believe is right, and what you feel is right, and what you think is right. And what you actually DO will be right if it is equally influenced by your beliefs, your feelings, and your thoughts.
