This is an experiment. Parallel to a musical etude.
It is my first attempt at a technique writers have used in the past to overcome writer's block. For those of you who've never experienced writer's block, please go talk to some other writer because I don't ever remember drawing a blank and not having a word to put down.
I can get, and am currently entangled, in moments when I have too many ideas competing for my typing attention that they trip over each other and nothing comes clear. Not necessarily writer's block, more like writer's clog. The technique, if you haven't guessed it by now, is to describe what is going on in your mind right now. Second by second. As the words arise. In the hope that one of the strands of consciousness will lead to a clearer path and coherent results. That the heart will latch on to something and the words fill up into something resembling content.
The image of using the plunger on a clogged toilet just presented itself to my mind. So, in the spirit of this etude, I present it to you with the hope that you rank this entry as more worthwhile than my imagery.
Because it worked. Have a good day, for now I can get to work.
