Too much of my posts get caught up in the 'Shoulds' of life. Quaint, impractical, pie-in-the-sky ideals the do not fit into every day life in the 'real world.'
Really?
Actually, they do fit. We humans exist on four levels: Soul, Heart, Mind, and Body. It is unhealthy for one level to rule over the others. A complete, healthy life is one that draws equally from these strengths. If, indeed, all are strengths. But we also have our weaknesses to overcome. Those that also exist in our souls, hearts, minds, and bodies. Too many dimensions going in too many directions for one person to go it alone.
The 'Shoulds' are where we can help each other. It is the 'Shoulds' that keep our evolution focused on our ultimate rendition. It is the 'Shoulds' that energize the conversations needed for community members to interact in a fashion of cooperative advances. It is the 'Shoulds' that provide the integer that measures our strengths and our weaknesses.
Complicating all this is that the 'Shoulds' are evolving even as we do. They represent moving targets cascading in a swirl of questions, problems, joys, pains, et al. How's a body to know what to do? What he or she 'Should' do?
If we are to build our lives around our strengths, we need to discuss the 'Shoulds' with our community to descry the path to follow. Common wisdom is good wisdom - as long as we continue to question it, discuss it, and refine it. As a community whose goal is Excellence.
Shouldn't we?
