Ice is Steam

Einstein said that energy and matter are different aspects of the same thing. I always tried to interpret this by telling myself 'It's just like ice and steam.' We humans have a better sense of ice and steam because our senses can deal clearly with their differing characteristics. We can watch the process by which one turns into the other. We have no such clear perception of the energy/matter characteristics.

So what does this have to do with Excellence?

I believe that when all is said and done and we have evolved into the ultimate beings of our destiny that we will see that science is religion and religion is science. Just as energy is matter and ice is steam.

Einstein had another Earth shattering theory that describes gravity as the energy created when matter interacts with space. The Earth orbits he sun because of the "wrinkles" the sun creates in the space that surrounds both. Matter and energy interacting with space (not to be confused with emptiness).

We humans are both matter and energy. Our physical aspect creates the same "wrinkles" as the sun, only smaller. But what of our three other sources of energy/matter. Isn't it logical that our souls, hearts, and minds also create "wrinkles" in space. If Einstein is right then this would be the conclusion we would come to when we accept that we have four aspects of energy/matter: soul, heart, mind, and body.

I here suggest that the only reason that we aren't more sure of this is because our senses are most clearly attuned to our physical aspect to the detriment of our souls, hearts and minds, the components of our Within.

But do we have evidence of the interaction through space of our Withins?

I have four friends who became my friends in less than ten (10) seconds. We were talking of things that only close friends talk about in less than five minutes. We quickly began finishing each other's sentences. Very soon we were bringing together the friends each of us had apart from the other to form a greater circle of community. We have all heard of or perhaps seen moments of love at first sight. We have witnessed the electricity created by dynamic acting or oratory performances. Actors will sometimes describe how more rewarding the stage is from screen because of the energy the feel fom the live audience. Even the mindless toe-tapping caused by the half hearing of of an engaging bit of music suggest that there is more than our traditional five senses at work. These are examples our Within affecting and being affected by the transmission of human energy/matter across space. But it's not just humans. Having a pet dog to scratch behind the ears or a cat to caress as it purrs while perched on your lap also transmits energy to our within.

If Excellence fuels the evolution of the Within (see "Excellence as Morality" posts) to bring us to an existence closer to God, then developing our abilities to more clearly perceive the workings of the transmission of human energy/matter just makes sense.

I am currently learning as much as I can about meditation techniques as a way of better connecting with my soul. Since words are the medium of choice for me I am trying my hand at poetry to explore and expose the contents of my heart. I am now analyzing how what I read leads to what I write and the choices of action I make as tried and true connections to my mind. But this aspect must be communicated to others if I am to truly understand it for myself. I am committed to better understanding nutrition and exercise to increase my awareness of my body and physical capabilities.

Energy is matter and matter is energy. Science is religion and religion is science. Improving our understanding of our souls, hearts, minds, and bodies makes us better at understanding Nature (the same as the Universe) as a whole. And then our roles within it. Leading us to being prepared to fulfill our roles.

Which is what religion is all about, isn't it?
